Zaf here. A while ago, Ryan and I went out to the green across from our place to take some photos of our Emilie Autumn plushie. The detail on this doll has to be seen to be believed. Her hair took hours of attaching triangles of red and pink felt just so. EA has her trademark heart patch and corset, and shredded-couture skirt, along with stockings and a sweet pair of silky bloomers. At her throat is a satin ribbon with a pearl and crown sown on, while her waist sash is adorned with a black and white cameo and a string of tiny cream coloured pearls. Emilie is such a gorgeous and fun dolly–wouldn’t you just love to take her home?
As usual, Black Toy Box dolls are delicate and contain small parts, posing a potential choking hazard, and so are NOT meant for children (or pets, but why would you let Spike chew on a $50+ art doll anyway?)

I spy with my little eye...
This is Zaf posting for Black Toy Box with some good news: Delirium is ready and waiting for someone to take her home. For purchase details, please see our Commissions and Dolls For Sale page.
I gotta say, D and I had a lot of fun on our little outing this misty, frigid morning. It was perfect weather to climb trees, sniff cherry blossoms, examine the daffodils, and freeze our fingers off.
Delirium is a OOAK art doll made of super-soft microfibre and filled with hypo-allergenic, squeezable-soft stuffing. She comes dressed as pictured in a mesh top, red and black skirt, black boots, and bracelets.
Please note that Delirium, as with all Black Toy Box dolls, are NOT meant for the little creatures in your life. Keep away from pets and children as buttons and small pieces could be a choking hazard. Please also note that the handmade nature of these dolls means they are delicate and not meant for rough play in little hands.

Love us!
Have devoted the weekend (and week following) to building up my stock of blank dolls. As of now I have three cheerful Soulless sitting on my work table. Hopping to end the week with about ten ready to go. I also have some the boot designs wrapped up, they are easily modifiable into a lot of designs. I received a request for a unicorn and a dinosaur this week so there might be some new quadruped bases coming up soon.

Play it again Charlie...
Other task for the Toy Box today was venturing out for DIY screen printing paraphernalia. I love arty t-shirts and had promised some of my art on tees for some friends. Sadly, when I tried the iron on transfers they where horrible. No way I would give the results to some one for free let alone someone who paid for it. So I am trying to see if I can get a screen printing operation going and hopefully have my art for sale in ware able form soon. Not only will this mean people tees but wee ones for the dolls as well.
In other news I just finished my Alan in time for the momentous event of him rejoining with Depeche Mode for one night. This one I’m afraid is mine but I have more that enough materials to make at least three of him with out making a fabric run.

I am unbelievable happy, one of my favourite artists, Jill Thompson saw the picture of the Delirium doll I made and saw fit to retweet. Like many others, the Sandman comics have been a huge influence on my writing and art work and I can’t begin to express how much it means that she enjoyed my work.

She is still short some boots. I made up a pattern and I’m going to make up pairs for everyone tomorrow night. I have three blank bases, sewn but not stuffed, that are waiting for personalities. That means faster delivery on any orders made now before I get to them.
Also hopping to get the galleries for some of the dolls set up. As for the dolls I’ve made, while some are spoken for for I am always happy to make another there might be some slight difference in them but that is part of the charm after all.

I have decided I needed a separate space for my dolls as they are starting to get some attention. Here you can expect to find pictures of works in projects, updates on commissions progress, comments/gripes/insights regarding sewing and plains and designs for future and on going projects.
As of posting this I am currently finished with my Emilie Autumn doll and will be posting a page for pictures of her. I have a test run of a Martin Gore out of craft felt which I plan to recreated in higher quality fabric and present for sale soon. I am nearly finished with the commissioned Jayne Cobb doll, hair is finished and he is only lacking accessories. I also have an Alan Wilder doll that is approximately %50 compleat, hair and jacket will hopefully be compleated today.
